Diwalifest 2023

October 28

Southlake DiwaliFest

Discover a food-, music- and dance-filled holiday celebration inspired by diverse cultural festivities.
Diwali, or also known as Deepavali, or Festival of Lights is India’s biggest and most important holiday of the year. The festival gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness.
The mission of the Diwali at Southlake Town Square Festival of Lights is to celebrate Indian culture and traditions by featuring traditional Indian dance, entertainment, and food from various parts of India. The goal of Diwali at Town Square is to expose the Southlake community to the culture and traditions of India. In India, the Diwali celebration is akin to Christmas and it represents the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance.

Southlake Foundation is hosting the color run at Bicentennial Park Southlake. “United We Run” with a mission of “Bringing the Community Together”. Come have fun and run with colors. While you run, color will be thrown along the way.

The Run blended the color-throwing elements, fundraising for CEF and running 5K together to fund teachers of the Carroll ISD school district is a perfect recipe of celebration, playfulness and inclusivity. It is a time to enjoy the abundant colors of spring and say goodbye to winter.

To introduce spring, there will be music playing to good beat music as you run, so you can feel motivated. Also, there will be a DJ playing the music for you! Speaking of music after your run, you can dance all you want after your run.

Last year there were around 500 people at the event. Come on and bring your friends to run with you. There will be food stands for all the amazing food such as Pizza, Indian, ice creams etc, or anything your heart desires. Come down to North fork and have mounds of fun with the color run event…

Run, jog (or even leisurely walk!) with your family and friends, and get showered with vibrant colors. After completing the Fun Color Walk/Run the celebration continues with food trucks, music and a group color throw!

This is a FREE event for community members to cheer the participants and to enjoy food, music and color throw.

Join us as we make magic, memories and togetherness.
